Hazelbury Parliament Update from our Sapphire Family MPs
Hello, we are Deniz and Dolunay and have recently been voted Sapphire family MPs. We have had our first meeting with our family councillors and collected their views on the agenda items for the half term. We took these views and discussed them with Laura Taylor in our half-termly MP meeting. Pupils discussed ideas relating to our Hazelbury Value - Respect. We all believe that we should show respect to everyone in school and when travelling around school, take care of the displays and work that other children have produced.
We also asked the children how they are finding our new system of ‘conferencing with teachers’. Children are working with teachers everyday to help guide them in their learning. We decided that all MPs are going to promote this in their next family assembly and encourage children to reflect on their learning by putting their book in the conference box if they feel they want to challenge themselves orhave further support from the teacher in their learning.
Our final discussion point was VIP lunch. Children felt that they would prefer this on a Friday rather than a Monday. We discussed this with Laura and all agreed that this would be a better day – this is now in place starting this Friday!
