  • Choose Respect

Children learn about choosing respect as part of our anti-bullying week.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week last week was Choose Respect. With the current issues in the news, we decided to focus on developing the children’s understanding of respecting the feelings and opinions of others, even when they are different to their own. This fits in with the British Value ‘ Respect and Tolerance’.  In addition to this, we know that it is vital that the children are confident in speaking about their feelings and expressing themselves. During lessons, pupils were presented with a range of social scenarios to discuss how they would ‘choose respect’. Through our Hazelbury Values, pupils are learning to build resilience so that they can bounce back from the challenges that they may face. Please speak to your child about the importance of listening to others as well as expressing how they feel.
