Our Hazelbury Restaurant

Hazelbury Parliament change our dining experience!

Last half term the Hazelbury Parliament asked the children for their feedback and ideas about what makes a great dining experience and how we could create this at Hazelbury. Following their feedback, the MPs and I put in place changes for Years 1 and 2 this week- creating our very own Hazelbury restaurant. Children in Key Stage One now eat lunch together as a year group, sitting with their friends in their classes. We made the dining hall resemble a restaurant with tablecloths and calming music playing. The children started the week with an assembly about how to be a great diner and they are encouraging each other to have super table manners, eat all of their dinner and be patient and respectful to those around them. Year 6 MPs were on hand this week to support the children and from next week a member of Year 6 will be with their link family class each day to help them. The children have thoroughly enjoyed our Hazelbury restaurant and parents and children have given fantastic feedback about the change. This new way of dining will be implemented across the whole school during this half term.
